Thanks, tried your solution without success. If I change baud speed I get a load of characters but cannot get the router into ROMMON mode the text below is what I get on my screen at 9600 but again cant get into ROMMON there is nothing after the display below, and the system light remains lit...- bacardi151

Sorry Im late, the router has two leds system and RPS. On boot USUALLY the system LED does not light up but with 4 0r 5 attempts it comes on. router freeze on boot
I have a 3640 router which after "system bootstrap....,Inc" freezes and will not go to rommon> during boot or accept any console commands. It seems to power up ok except that.. On the motherboard to the left of the ACTIVE and READY LEDs are another two LEDs, the top one is lit and the bottom one...- bacardi151
