I have a remote branch that has a Lanier 5222 B&W Multi Function device, scanner, printer etc etc....
Yet when a user scans a document and send it to the share on the Dell server it reboots.
Any ideas as to why this may happen?
Kewl, I banged around on google and also found this.
The link below provides some logic in case the drive is already mapped.
Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

My question is how do I pass credentials via the VBS script.
Thanks
P.S. Search was disabled at the time of this post, browsing didnt turn up anything.
New to VBS, not even script kiddie.
I have a batch file I want to convert to VBS. The batch file maps a network drive using provided credentials. Works great. However I need to have it in VBS now.
The VBS I've got so far is below.

I'm having the same problem. I'm preparing a NT4 network to upgrade to W2K3 and created a BDC and setup replication. I too however am not seeing the files from the share netlogon on the PDC replicate to the netlogon of the bdc.
steveot,
Thanks, I've read that too, the user isnt hidden and the mailbox is activated. I've since figured out how to add the server, had to add the account to the Site, Org and server w/ appropriate permissions.
However when I choose to backup the mailboxes, it fails. I've since added a...
I have since gotten the agent installed, rebooted the machine and attempted to install the agent again. Now Exchange is listed in the Information Store, Exchange Directory, Mailboxes and Public Folders are visible. However when I select the Mailboxes I now get an error that reads: Logn Account...
I should probably explain a little more. When going to Tools, Install Remot Agents I select the server I want to push the agent to, which is exchange, but the Features do not include Exchange Agent, however when I view Help, About BE for Win Svrs I see that Agent for MS Exch is Licensed and...
Thanks but in the interim I've gotten a reply from Veritas support, they suggested I copy the Rant32 folder to the Exchange server and run the setupaa.cmd and then look for the backup remote agent for windows service, ensure it's started.
Well apparently, I'm guessing, it requires a restart...

Have a situation wherein I have the License Available on the Media Server but when I choose to remotly install the agent I drill down and find the exchange server, Exchange 5.5, the agent is not available.
Would appreciate any insight you all...
Sorry, should have listed that.
It's an old machine, simply for testing.

Just found out something odd, as long as I have the W2K3 CD in the CD tray, it will boot. Otherwise it goes straight to PXE boot.
I thought this was a problem w/ some questionable SCSI drives that I pulled from a crashed server, apparently not as this is the 3rd time this has happened.
The base install is fine, I've rebooted and the machine comes back up no problems, but as soon as SP1 is installed and reboots it goes...
New install of XP on GW laptop, McAvee Enterprise 8.0i installed and updated. Open Office installed.
Problem is, IE will open browser pages to default page, and will on some occassions send the page I'm viewing back to the homepage. This is a problem with IE and with Firefox.

I have about 10 - 15 printers on my network, some have Axis print servers and some have HP JetDirect print servers.
I'm contemplating disabling SNMP across the board on these devices but not sure what impact it would have on printing, if any. Obviously this is a small network and I'm not...
Im in the exact same spot, I'm the new Admin for a small business. Around 120+/- people, most are on XP, have a few 2000 machines and about 10 Win 98 machines.
I'd LOVE to get away from the NT4 DC, no BDC, to make matters worse, the DC serves as the Print Server as well.
I DO NOT have a backup...
