Cyklops: Thanks for your response. As I mentioned in my original post, I was able to do a manual backup and then a manual restore on a brand new tape. This would lead me to believe that all the components I'm using work with eachother. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd still welcome any more thoughts...- avayleable
