I am in the middle of a hardware migration where we are moving from Dell PowerEdge servers to HP Blades. I have built a new Exchange server and need to migrate the public folders from the existing Exchange server to the new one.
The new system is currenlty in an isolated staging environment...
I have imaged 30 HP BL20 blade servers with the same Windows Server 2003 image utilizing Altiris Rapid Deployment. Prior to joining these servers to the domain, I ran the SIDGEN utility which is built in to the Blade systems.
After running the SIDGEN utility I set up my domain controllers and...
The real issue I'm having is that on (1) server, I attempt to add Domain Admins to the Local Admins, built-in group. When I click "Apply", it states that "Domain Admins is already a member of group Admins. However, it does not appear in the local admins list. I have already regenerated the SID...
I am looking for the best way to create a GPO which will add a Domain Administrator to the Local Administrators group on all servers (30).
Additionally, there are a handfull of servers that I would like to apply a GPO to which need to use specific service accounts to start services.
Thanks!
I'm looking for a tool which can be used to ask users a series of questions prior to them sending out emails. I work for the Dept of Defense so the questions would in regards to classification of data, sensitive materials...etc.
ADCFAQ,
That's a great article for migrating from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, however I'm moving a Windows 2003 Forest to new hardware. A bit different, so some of the registry changes referenced in this article apply specifically to 2000. Do you know if there are any articles specific to...
Definately a good call on both accounts. I should have prefaced my initial post by stating that I inherited this domain and its chock full o' errors from a failed Kerberos experiment last year. So I kind of wanted to start with a fresh and stable environment, but need to keep the Forest/Domain...
I have been tasked with moving my Active Directory Forest to new servers, from Dell PowerEdge to HP Proliant Blades. I need to keep the Forest and Domain names the same.
The forest contains over 500,000 users and well over a million objects. I considered creating the domain from scratch, but...
I've been researching a solution for this migration for a while and I figured I'd open it up to the forum to see if any of you had been through this before.
I'm in the process of moving an Active Directory Forest consisting of 20+ servers, 1 domain, 2 subnets (front end public dmz, back end...
I notice heavy memory utilization on one of my DC's. Average of 40 page faults/sec, but only 0.4 pages/sec. Processor, about 540 interrupts/sec is the only thing that stands out. The servers have 2.5GHz processors and 3.75GB of RAM.
EventID.Net did pop up in one of my searches, the site only gives you minimal information unless you pay a fee. If you are a member and want to run a search that would be great. I transferred the PDC Emulator roles one of my other DC's that doesn't see too much action and this has decreased...
My organization has been experiencing replication issues over the last few days. We are getting 1083 errors,
"Active Directory could not update the following object with changes received from the domain controller at the following network address because Active Directory was busy processing...
Thanks for the quick reply. When I plug in either the server name or ip/exchange, I am promted for my credentials, when I plug them in with the domain\username, or just the username and pword I get a 404 error.
I have created a new Exchange organization, Exchange Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 Active Directory. I am sending and receiving mail with no problem. I would like to enable WebMail capabilities and was under the impression that this was available by default by plugging the DNS entry into a...
