If you don't have the old cert. Then you will have to push the new certs to all the client's pki folder and if the clients are still pointing to the old server (differnt name) you will need to copy the GRC.DAT file to the clients as well...
SAV 10 and above req. certificate to match on the client and the Parent server. If you are upgrading your SAV infrastruture make sure,
1) Upgrade the Parent server first.
2) Upgrade your PC's SAV and SSC to the same versrion.
3) Roll out to the clients from SSC from your PC.
The cert is...

Anyway, check the max size of the registry key...maybe it over grew the max size of registry key file.

Or if you have SSC console install. You can change the uninstall password for the clients or disable it.
Or you can look up the manual uninstall procedure on the symantec web site.

You need to set some exception in the XP SP2 Firewall setting in order to make the client talk to the parent. More information on the sysmantec web site.
Quick question.
Do I need Brightstor agent and Openfile agent to backup the PDC and DC in Windows ADS?
Or
I don't need those agent at all. Just use the backup that came with Windows?
Thanks
We just use SQL's own backup to backup those enssential databases to the hard disk and use Arcserve to backup those SQL backuped files. Works great and save $$$ for the SQL agent.
