Hi all, You do not need a backup agent for open files to backup the sql server online.. You just need a sql agent to back it up.. I don't think that CA is selling arcserve 6.61 and its agents anymore as they have released arcserve2000.. I ran into same problems and atlast i bought...

Always, its a good parctice to use "sa" account for backups and restores.. For security reasons, if you u do not want to use "sa" then create a sql login and give him full rights, so that login can be used for backups and restores... Baba says... "Known is a drop...

when you right click on the database session in the restore window, you should get the "backup agent option".. Clicking that menu will open up the "backup agent restore options".. this is where u see the "force restore over existing database.. Also in the destination...
