How do I remove bogus backup domains?

My SAN Configuration manager displays domains that do not exist. How do I clean this up? Apparently when some of our backup servers were installed they were configured as Primary servers, then later removed. Now, those servers show up as domains.... thanks, DJ

Moving raw LV to another VG

So, is cplv what I should use? Will the 'dd' still work? DJ

Moving raw LV to another VG

I have an Oracle Volume Group (prodvg) that is nearly full. Because of VG characteristics I could not add another drive to the VG, so I created a new one. (Prod2vg) How can I move LV's off of Prodvg onto the prod2vg? Is it relatively simple? I'm sure I'd have to shutdown Oracle... DJ

    MKSYSB's on new LPAR'd systems

Forgive me as I'm new to the LPAR thing, but I wanted to see if you guys could give me some guidance here. I have a new system that we've partitioned into 2 servers. This system has one DVD that we could move between the two, but I am not the scripting expert either! :) How can I get a...

Host Integration Client on Advanced Server 2000?

I have a Windows Advanced 2000 server that I desperately need to install the Host Integration Server Administrative client on. It keeps telling me that it can't install the Admin client on Advanced Server because it's not designed to go on the Server O/S. Can someone tell me a way around...

Setting up Etherchannel on Cisco 6500

Today, I disconnected one of the cables from my server and disabled and re-enabled the port channel using 'mode on'. I then successfully pinged across multiple subnets. I then hooked up the other server cable and immediately lost my ability to ping other subnets, including the gateway on the...

Setting up Etherchannel on Cisco 6500

Beginning to wonder if the code on the 6500 is too old to work with my newer server NIC drivers. Here is the output of a 'show version' command... Copyright (c) 1995-2000 by Cisco Systems NMP S/W compiled on Jun 8 2000, 21:09:45 System Bootstrap Version: 5.3(1) Hardware Version: 2.0...

Setting up Etherchannel on Cisco 6500

I actually don't know that the channel is working. I said that it was 'working' because using 'mode on' is the only way that I can get the channel to show up in the output of a 'show port channel' command. When I use 'auto' and 'desirable' I can't see the channel listed anymore. Using 'mode...

Setting up Etherchannel on Cisco 6500

Been trying to setup an Etherchannel on a Cisco 6500. I have teamed two NICs on a Compaq server that I want to connect to an etherchannel on the switch. From the switch, the only way I can get it to create an etherchannel is to run 'set port channel <mod/port>,<mod/port> mode on'. Auto or...

Brightstor 10 job won't stop multistreaming

when I modify my backup job (I have two nightly jobs) and uncheck the multistreaming option it comes right back. Why? It allows me to uncheck the option, but when I submit the job and go back in to look at it, it shows multistreaming turned on again. :( any clues? Thanks!

    Oracle Agent and Control Files

I've opened a call with CA... someone in India called me :) Still no resolution though. I sent them my init*.ora file and a picture of the opened Oracle Agent. I'm no Oracle expert so I'm no sure what you're asking. Looking through the init file it states where the control files...

    Oracle Agent and Control Files

I'm no Oracle DBA, but I'm responsible for our Oracle Database backup through Brightstor using an Oracle Agent. When trying to restore to another server in a D/R test it was found that I wasn't getting the control files during the online backup. Why did the Oracle Agent miss these files...
