I am using rlpconf to setup two network printers. I am unable to suppress banner pages though. /etc/default/lpd has:
BANNERS=0
Nothing here:
/var/spool/lp/admins/lp/interfaces

Canaccess is a compiled file and I cannot read those... It appears to be what I was beginning to suspect. Something wrong witht the jetdirect port. these by default are wide open to access via telnet and I know they have done nothing to restict it. Yet it refuses the connection. hmmm

If given that the digiboard is already configured... you could easily set this up in SCOADMIN. The "standard" driver works in most all cases for the model.
Set your printer parameters to 8,n,1 and 9600B XON/XOFF..
Here is my PS command:

And yes SCO works this perfectly...

Heh... got it... It kept coming back up to multi-user so I decided to keep digging. I cleared the /var/adm/wtmp file and found this is what was thrashing my memory so. Why? hmm.. dunno. Then went through, and cleared thousands of mail files from the /var/spool/mqueue dropped the paging down...
Well I got it to boot up and watched paging space as it went like this.
