Are you saying create a new job from scratch? Or can I open the saved job (from v12) and modify it. I backup servers as well as desktops and I really do not want to re-enter in all that info, but if that is the only way to get it working correctly, I guess I may have to do it.
I upgraded from 12.1 to R15. I origianally had three media pools named as: ARSFLOLTO_DLY, ARSFLOLTO_MLY, and ARSFLOTO_WLY. After upgrade, I now have the original and 3 additional Media Pools: ARSFLOT_DLY, ARSFLOT_MLY, and ARSFLOT_WLY. Due to these new additional media pools, I have had...
I have already done this. I had to contact CA support when I changed the name and did this as well as doing something to the database. I canont remember what the command was. Anuway, until I did the above, I could not backup or do anything. Backups are running correctly, but I cannot get rid...
Was planning to update v15, but became sidetracked with other things. I guess I just need to go ahead and do that. But in the meantime, here are results:
Anyway I went into the Jobs in the database and the ones I want to get rid of are not there.
I also went into the Server Admin and tried...
I am running ARCserve 12.0 SP1 SQL database. I stage to hard drives on my backup server and then copy the files to a LTO4 device for archive. All works fine except for a couple of issues that I have.
I have some sessions that list when I expand the Media Records for the staging device that no...
I have not tried the pre command, because what I read is that the pre/post commands runs on the server, not the client, which is what I need. Therefore, I have created 2 scheduled tasks. One runs before the backup job starts to wakeup the computer and the other runs later to shut it down. It...
I will see if I can get a pre-command script to run, which I had not thought of. I was working on a batch program that would run daily and shutdown the computers at a certain time. If the pre-command script does not work, then I may just go back to the shutdown and run the backups earlier and...
Years ago when we switched to Win XP and had systems go into standby or hibernate, ARCserve could not see the systems on the network as the network connection was "dropped". Our older Win 2000 systems worked OK. So to get around this, I just did not allow systems to go into standby and just...
Thank you so much. I thought I had looked at everything and matched the configuration, but I missed that one. I guess I thought that info would come from the original DNS server, DC1. I added that info on DC2 and now it is working as I expected.
I was looking at all the complicated...
I have 2 Win 2003 Standard DCs: DC1 and DC2. I have DNS set up as AD integrated. DC1 is DNS server and is currently the DHCP server. DC2 is also DNS server. Replication appears to be working OK. I have setup a dedicated AD account to be used for DHCP. I have added both DC1 and DC2 to...
Well, I believe I finally have it fixed now. For others that may have this problem, I finally found out this little bit of important info about DHCP:
dhcp broadcast uses only the primary address for its broadcast, if you have 2 it doesn't know where to send the dhcp reply when it comes...
I have a Cisco 2821 which is my Internet router. I have 1 Cisco 2611XM that connects to another 2611XM via T1. The computers at the remote end connect OK to us and can access the Internet as long as I give them static IPs. They cannot get addresses assigned via DHCP server which is on our...
What I did was I had a server with a SCSI connection to a DAT drive running 11.5 Arcserve. I bought a different server with a LTO SAS connection device running 12.0 Arcserve.
I have not moved the SCSI device to the new server at this time, so if I must retrieve old data, I have to use the...
Thanks, but I may just go with what I have for now and not do the manual calibration. This UPS does not have a serial port so the Cal-key probably won't work. However, I will check into this for future needs with other UPS that I have that do have a serial port.
