    Right Click Lock-up on Win98/Novell

Hi all. We've had a problem here with a few of our user's PC's. They are HP Brios running Win98. When the user right-clicks on something (to rename, delete, make new folder) she gets an illegal operation and Explorer is shut down. Error message is something about a "general Protection...

I have a (remote) user who is trying to convert a Word Newsletter to a PDF file. He is using the "Create PDF" plug-in option from Word. When he tries to convert, he gets an error that the file is "open for editing" and it will not let him create the PDF. If he e-mails the...

    Check Boxs in ACCESS

If you have the check boxes all within the same frame, you will see that checking one will uncheck others. Check to see if your boxes are located as part os an option group or frame.

Corrupt Files that open in Word 97, not in 2000

Oh, If I hit "no" to not continue loading the project, I get a "Device I/O Error." Then Excel stays open without the workbook being open. (The Title bar does still display the name of the workbook.) I have installed Service packs through SP3.

Corrupt Files that open in Word 97, not in 2000

Hi all. This one's a bit strange. We are currently in the process of upgrading our users from Office 97 to Office 2000. (We're not exactly "bleeding-edge" around here.) Since we have upgraded one user in particular, he has found several of his Excel files that give the error of...

"Locked for editing" when trying to convert to PDF

Thanks for the advice, WindowsWizard. My user is trying to use the PDF Creator plug-in from Microsoft Word. He e-mailed the Word file to me and I was able to convert it fine. (Also using Acrobat 5.0 plug-in from Word.) I had him check all of the "Conversion Settings" under the...

Ok, I'll give it a try. What would registering the software have to do with anything?

Can't Open .txt files in Excel

No good. She is an administrator, so there should not be any permissions problems. Getting frustrated yet? I sure am! Thanks for the suggestions.

Can't Open .txt files in Excel

Thanks for the suggestion. However, she has only had this PC for less than a week. (It's brand new.) Also, we were able to open the text files in Excel on another one of the brand new PC's with the same software running on it, and everything worked fine.
