2007 Compatibility pack - Context Menu

I finally found a way to do it: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\MOC There's an entry called "04" that handles the Save As command, I renamed it and now we still see the Save As option on the menu but when you click it nothing happens. Thanks for the input just the same.

2007 Compatibility pack - Context Menu

Traycee, Thanks for the input. Could you please elaborate on where/how to set up the macro you mentioned? I could understand it being a startup macro for an Excel file but I don't know how to set it to execute when you right-click a file in Explorer. I've been search for hours/days for how...

2007 Compatibility pack - Context Menu

Users are right-clicking on Excel XP files, choosing Save As and there are only 2007 options. The particular files have lots of macros and code in them that don't work in 2007. We just want to get rid of the Save As option all together.

2007 Compatibility pack - Context Menu

We still run Office XP on our Citrix servers and have installed the 2007 compatibility pack too. The problem we're having is the "Save As" Explorer context menu option. Some of the users are using this on Excel files and it messes them up because they don't understand what's happening when...

    Sites and Services issue

Actually, you read it right. Both sites have subnets in the 172.29.x.x/24 range with only 1 in the small site. No, there isn't routing between all the subnets in the main site. We have a hub and spoke network topology. All the 17.29.x.x subnets cannot talk to each other. All the DCs are in...

    Sites and Services issue

Norton, Thanks again for the input. - All subnets exist in only one site. We know not to associate a subnet with more than one site, I wouldn't even know how to force something like that in the S & S interface. - The small site with one subnet has a DC that, so far (touch wood), has always...

    Sites and Services issue

Sniper, Thanks for your reply but, that's not the issue. Recapping my original post: All subnets in question are assigned to one of the two sites. There are DCs assigned and up all the time in both sites.

    Sites and Services issue

Norton, Thanks for your reply. If I understand what you're suggesting we can't do that. As I understand it a site can contain one or more subnets and one or more DCs and a DC can't belong to more than one site. If this is correct we simply can't have a DC in every subnet, we have 167 of them.

    Sites and Services issue

The small site has 1 subnet - 172.29.X.X with a 24 bit mask (on purpose). The main site has a number of different subnets including a bunch of 172.29.X.X subnets also with a 24 bit mask. There are others but the machines in these subnets are the ones we're having trouble with.

    Sites and Services issue

Win2k3 domain - native mode. We have 2 sites in our domain, one has all the subnets except one. The other site has one subnet and 1 DC. The problem we're having is that a lot of the machines in the subnets in the big site are trying to get to the DC in the site with only one subnet. The main...

    Power Management Group Policy

Have you looked into Group Policy Peferences? This is native to Windows 2008 domains but can be implemented in Windows 2003 domains if you have either a Windows 2008 server or at least one Vista machine with the admin tools. We've implemented it and it works though there are a few interesting...

    Trust relationship question

itsp1965: logging in from a server in the dmz using an account on the production (trusted) domain. I was hoping to have the DMZ DC somehow proxy the request to the prod domain on behalf of the DMZ member server but if that's not possible, C'est la vie. theravager: the idea is have one...

    Trust relationship question

Steve, The DMZ DC's are both GCs, unfortunately that doesn't help. Thanks for the input just the same.

    Trust relationship question

We have a production domain (2003 native mode)and a domain in the DMZ (2008 native mode) that is working fine though we have to iron out a few port issues on the FW. The trust is one-way, DMZ trusts Production. We watched the FW logs and saw that when a Prod user was logging onto a DMZ server...
