I've had the exact same problem on a previous project. In the Tools/Unsupported folder in Visual Studio folder, there's a folder called systray which has a custom control. You need to add this to your project and follow the instructions included. This worked fine for me.

You seem to have two problems. First of all, the errors accessing user mailboxes. Try logging in as the backup service account and see if you have access to these mailboxes. You may need to change the user rights for this account. Another point here is you don't need to backup the individual...

When you say you cannot get a catalogue off the tape, do you get an error message? Does the catalogue job get submitted correctly to the job monitor? I may be able to help if you supply some more details ;-)

This is probably a problem of NT access rights on the network. From what you say, the account you're logged in as has all of the correct rights to access the PCs across the network. When you installed Backup Exec, did you enter this account as the Service Account? If not, log in as the service...
