Thanks for the advice but it didn't resolve my problem.
I don't believe the drives are fragmented to the point that it would be a problem. The server is less than a year old and doesn't have a lot of data being changed.
The defrag program doesn't hang it just doesn't start to defrag.
The defrag util on my Windows 2000 sp4 server starts but when I click on Analyse or defrag nothing happens. Nothing get entered into the event logs and there are no errors of any kind.
I've rebooted the server and I am logged on as Administrator.

It looks like it's caused when Symantec receives a bad email and tries to perform a DNS lookup for the domain of the bad email. I just deleted the email from the Symantec queue and the problem went away.

We are slowly migrating users from netware 5.1 to a Windows 2000 domain. When we copy the user folder from Netware to the 2000 server all the folder dates change to todays date. I need a way to keep the folder date (and file date) to the original creation date. Any help?
