This is just more info for anyone else who comes along looking for an answer to this one: I have been receiving the same STOP error with CLASSPNP.SYS lately, and I know that I have either a bad Maxtor(Promise) ATA100 controller, or the relatively new 80Gig Maxtor drive connected to it is bad...- AlexTG
