Hi there
so, I could now bring my customers machine up (sorry for the delay).
The solution was effectively to boot to open firmware and change the real-base parameter to c00000. After that I could boot the machine and update the SCSI firmware.
All of you many thanks for this great support and...
Hi there
thanks for your posts. Now the problem still persists:
p5wizard: On this link you can create an image with all drivers, thanks. The problem is, that I have to install this microcode booting the server from the diagnostics-CD. It's the only way to upgrade it (I think). I tried and it...
Hi p5wizard
thanks for your post. I tried it without success. As next step I re-installed AIX but when it reboots... same result.
I think what should be done first is to upgrade the FW of the SCSI-Adapter and the disks.
The problem is, that these FW-Files are not on the machine and burning it...
Hi there

Hi,
I made a TSM-Server migration from Version 5.1.5 to 5.2.2
The problem I have now ist, that the DB-Backups created with Version 5.1.5 could not be deleted from volhist. When I do a "delete volhist type=dbbackup todate=-4" (volume is older then 4 days) then I get the answer "0 Volumes...
I hope you did the tsm db backup. If you used to make a backup as usual on tape you will do the following:
1. Stop the tsm server by entering "halt"
2. Issue the following command:
dsmserv restore db todate=today totime=now
(explanation: TSM will automatically request the latest tape used...
Hi,
bad thing. Restore the TSM Database from the last "correct" backup you have of it.
Maybe you loose only a few saves and not all of them.

Yes, if you use the nodename and the authentication of the node who made the backup, you could restore this data on another system.

Hi,
try to clone this backup.
1. Boot the H80 from CD (AIX)
2. Instead to install from it you will find a option where you can tell your system to install from a mksysb.
Sorry, but I don't remember exactly where this menu points are located.
Good luck

Hi,
I think your limit is set at /etc/security/limits. There you can set your filesize limit (fsize).
Change this value and it should work.
(changing fsize to "fsize -1" means that filesize will be limitted by AIX -> 1TB)

Hi,
did you have the file /etc/netsvc.conf ?
This file should have following line inside:
hosts=local,bind
So that first the adresses stored on /etc/hosts will
be used. Otherwise the the DNS entry is used.

You can get information about TSM-Messages by typing the following on the TSM Command Line:
TSM....> help ANR2579E
You will get the entire Message

Hi, it looks like you have a hardware problem.
Does this system have any disks attached?
If yes are they available for this system ?

Hi,
I don't know what is the maximum. But I think you will not reach them. I have an installation with IBM 3494 having 12 IBM 3590 drives.
The only limitation I know is the Hardware or Oparating System Limitation.
