    Exchange 200 & 5.5 Together

You may need the Active Directory Connector service running to replicate data between the 5.5 and 2000 Exchange servers (if one domain is NT and the other is Active Directory). More info on the ADC here: http://www.labmice.net/BackOffice/Exchange2000/activedir.htm

    2 Dell PowerEdge 4600's and 1 Powervault 220s

I thought that with the 220s set to cluster mode you could only use 13 disks -- maybe that 14th disk is fouling things up????

    2 Dell PowerEdge 4600's and 1 Powervault 220s

Do the PERC 3 cards have unique Initiator IDs (found in the BIOS near where you enabled the clustering option)? The default is 7 but one of them needs to be changed to another number...usually 6. Alex

    Clustering Exchange servers

Oops...actually posted the wrong one (first link is just general E2k references). Here's a guide to deploying Exchange clusters: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/exchange2000/deploy/depopt/sp2clustgd/1-intro.asp

    Clustering Exchange servers

another good link: http://www.labmice.net/BackOffice/Exchange2000/admin.htm (aside from just about everything here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/exchange2000/default.asp)

The server was unable to allocate a work 100 times in the last 60 seco

The reg hack in that link worked for me. I only saw this problem pre-SP2...do you have SP2 or 3 on the server? Alex

    CL380 / CR3500 monitoring

Thanks for the info! That advisory makes it pretty clear. I guess I'll just have to get going and look at the server every once in a while :)

    clustered exchange server

I read in the "deploying exchange 2000 sp2 clusters" white paper that the Active Directory Connector is not supported in the clustered version of Exchange...is that true, and if so, what sort of workaround is there if you're migrating from a single Exchange 5.5 server to an Exchange...

    CL380 / CR3500 monitoring

Can Insight Manager monitor the status of disks in a shared storage array? We have a CL380 cluster with 5 disks in a CR3500 array -- recently one disk went bad and we didn't know until someone happened to look at the cluster unit and saw the warning lights (the server is off-site in a data...

    terminal services Client for W2K

I'll post it: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q248430 (if my link doesn't work, it's Q248430 on www.microsoft.com/technet) check out the "Physically Removing the TS CAL" section.

How to make Active Directory work as a clustered service?

Not sure about AD/domain controller issues on a Win2k cluster but to my knowledge you can't cluster the DNS service. I've put DHCP and WINS on but no DNS. I guess it could still run as a service on each cluster node but not as a resource you'd set up in cluster administrator. Q281662 seems to...

Proliant 1600 running Terminal Server Resets

When I hear that a terminal server is rebooting unexpectedly the first thing I think of is printer drivers -- do you have any wacky non-MS certified drivers on there?

    Citrix FAQ or support Sites

I recommend the Citrix Solution Forums: http://www.citrix.com/support/forums.asp The Citrix knowledgebase seems good for high-level whitepaper type stuff but the forums have helped me a lot with specific issues. Thin Planet: http://www.thinplanet.net/ (lots of ads but their forums are good if...

    terminal services Client for W2K

My first guess would be licensing...if you can't connect to a Win2k terminal server from an NT4 client, your NT4 client might have an expired Temporary CAL from the terminal services licensing server. Windows 2000 systems have that CAL built-in and wouldn't be affected. You'd either have to add...

Need Thin Client Opinions and Suggestions plz

Check out the T20 thin client terminal from Compaq...no floppy drive but a nice little terminal for around $300. They also have a T1010 that has standard mouse/keyboard connections (T20 is all-USB). For servers I like Compaq's DL360s -- dual processors and a gig of RAM.
