I have tracked down some issues with Sysnames and it appears that CW2K is changing sysnames on platforms. It usually happens when a switch is relocated. The sysname is changed to reflect the new location. We do not have any other tools set that have the capability to make these changes. The DNS...
I have room on either drive for some, more on the second w /opt. Just as a what if, I could take a weekend and rebuild the box from scratch and customize the file system at installation. Any tips on this process? /; /var; and /etc file system sizes etc. These systems have been purchased for my...
OK, the /opt now occupies a drive on it's own. Seems to be fine. However, / is sitting at 68%. /var and /etc are not seperated out. How do I increase / quickly. If I move /var and /etc into their own mnt will that take care of it? What steps do I need to increase this space?

I have 2 tables. A column in each of these tables contains similar data but with a different syntax. (Table 1 Column B has numeric entries. Table 2 Column B contains the exact same data but with an alpha prefix) I want to eliminate the alpha characters so I can build a relations ship between...
Usual stuff, IP and Multicast mostly, No IPX. It has been reported that the slowness was corrected after a reset, but prior to the reset we were not seeing any indications from the switch that it was struggling. Just looking for either similar occurances from others or perhaps some tips on...
