hey micker, you're saying that my g router..if i'm using a g card on one computer..and a b card on a different computer, and both computers are on (or does that make a difference), the speed of my g card will be restricted to b's speed?

all the plugs are in their corresponding jacks right? and..i dunno if this'll do anything at all, but are you using the latest drivers for your sound? i believe for the majority of onboard soundcards, you can use the realtek drivers found here...

..and..just in case you didnt know..the red stripe is supposed to go into pin1 of the connector on the HD (it's usually the closer end to the power connector).

hmm..not sure if this'll help, but maybe try norton disk doctor? gee. that's such an old program..i'm sure norton's got something out for reviving dead HDs..at least long enough for you to grab most/some/a glance of what you need.. have you tried a different cable? how aobut changing from...

ahhh. ok i guess i was totally using the wrong terminology. ;) dualband routers support 2.4GHz (b/g) as well as 5GHz (a) devices. gotcha. so if i picked one up, i can still keep all my current b and g devices and they'd work just like normal..the router wont enhance their performance, right...

or better yet..since the HD is an ultra100, does plugging it into an ultra66 force it to go at the 66 speed? or are the two utterly incompatible?
