yes it does have file and printer sharing on, I can access the shares. didn't I mention that?

I have a computer that I couldn't print to today from the server. I knew it was on, so I tried to browse to it. It wasn't listed in the domain under my network places. But a search of the network found the computer, in the domain. Clicking the little file folder icon with the crooked arrow...

There was only 1 DC when I got here, another one was created when I created a terminal server, and the third DC is just a backup, and hosts some files and printers.. I just logged in to the terminal server via TS, and got this message when trying to run dcdiag: dcdiag.exe Entry Point Not Found...

no drive listed anywhere except as offline in windows removable storage manager... The drive is under warranty, so we're getting a new one.

Just uninstalled the drive, rebooted, reinstalled (add hardware found it), and rebooted again. Still no drive!

Just got in to day, and the tape drive is no even listed under device manager. Nor is it found when I do an add new hardware!! WTF?!??!

uninstalled Backup Exec, deleted all the old tapes from the backup media pool, and got all new tapes. I also updates the tape drive's firmware while I was at it. Now when I place a tape in the drive, it is not detected by backup exec. for that matter, it is not detected in windows removable...

any further suggestions?

I've tried "unjoining" and rejoing the machines several times, and avctually replacing one of them with a brand new machine (for a differnt reason...) when I join the network, I join abc2000.local, but the windows logon screen still shows abc20000.local as the domain...

We never really add or remove machines... And if we did, it would be to replace a machine already on the network. Also, we do have 2 dns servers, so I guess I REALLY don't need the hosts file.. I'll try to post the ipconfig /all results tomarrow. And AD Domains and trusts lists ABC2000.local...
