POLL: Do you use SQL or Raima with Arcserve...and why?

The biggest issue with SQL is maintenance. You have to keep up your SQL database maint jobs and make sure the serve with the db is built for SQL (sep spindles for logs and db's) I keep a large sql database (20GB) and do not like to merge to find a file or file version, as 90% of my restores are...

    Arcserve v9 vs. Arcserve 2000

Look at HP Data protector it will come in much cheaper. I use a SQL for a database and keep a 20 GB database which has been quite reliable compared to VLDB. Make sure you have about three times the space for SQL as you will want to run maintenance and separate the logs from the DBF Files. You...

Arcserve 2000 and Brightstore Arcserve v9 Differences

Support and CA are mutually exclusive. Anyway I upgraded from 2000 to 9. Make sure your hardware drivers and firmware are up to date. I am getting about 1/3 better performance through NT/2000 client agents BUT the CPU Utilization on the box being backed up is MUCH Higher.

    Cisco Questions

There is an integration utility. In ciscoworks there is a scrolling window in the bottom left hand corner. Let it run for a while and then go through the posts. You will need a cisco logon. Download and run this. This will integrate a menu into the NNM munu bar. You can run it to automatically...

    Too Long Syncronizing

My problem is with Cisco and Comm Devices and interfaces. I am in the process of creating entries in my Host file (w2k) on my NNM server. Also: You can run a check dns command from a CMD prompt to find your problem devices. Look up checkdns.ovpl.
