OS: Solaris 5.10
Netbackup version: 6.5.1
We've had a guy leave so I'm being thrown into this with no background on this system. If you offer suggestions of tools to run please use full paths so I can find them.
After taking over this backup situation I've found that nothing has run for about...
Ok. Just so I make sure I'm understanding correctly. As long as I have a different volume pool, and the expiration is set to infinite, each new backup will simply be appended to the information that is already there, until the tape is full. Is that correct?
Thanks
Using NetBackup 4.5GA on a Windows 2000 server box.
Here is what I'm being asked to do and I don't even know if it is possible. This would be using NDMP backups from a NetApp filer.
I'm supposed to backup a directory to tape, and set it to never expire. The directory would then be deleted...
Using NetBackup 4.5 on a Windows 2000 Server box.
Our server crashed last week due to hardware failure (don't trust RAID 5). Not only did one disk fail, but the machine then blue screened while writing the catalog tape. Needless to say restoring the from catalog did not restore all the...
I had a ticket open with Veritas for three months for this same issue, NDMP failing with 99. We are running Netbackup DataCenter 4.5 on a Windows 2000 server box. The NDMP backups are for a Network Appliance machine. We had also suspected snapshot issues, but when we expanded our capacity and...
That was it, thanks. The name of the file is
AM.%USERNAME%.lok
located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Temp
I deleted the file and the program now runs.
Thanks
Running NetBackup Datacenter 4.5 on a Windows 2000 Server box.
Came in this morning and ran available_media like I always do. I didn't notice that the cygwin window that I run it in was all messed up (command typed out in the middle of the screen, output was messed up too). I closed out the...
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting this backup to run successfully. I have another backup running on the same client that is successful, but it is backing up a different physical drive.
What follows is the output of the "Problems" report from one of the attmpted backups. I am running NetBackup...

Note When importing backups that have fragments on more than one tape, do not start
the import until you have read the catalog for all the tapes containing fragments.
Otherwise, the import will fail with a message similar to: Import of backupid
failed, fragments are...
Using NetBackup 4.5GA
a Tape was mistakenly deleted using the dt.bat command. Is there anyway to restore the information on the tape? Can information from the catalog tape be written back to Veritas before it runs again? Please help, I'm feeling awful!
Using NetBackup 4.5GA with Exabyte EZ-17 LVD drive.
I can't really tell what happened last night. It looks like it loaded the catalog tape and there was a problem (on a side note since running a manual full back up last week NetBackup has been backing up the Catalog tape before and after the...
