This server is the start of a classroom network.
I am trying to go through all the labs that the students will be using. This way i hopefully will avoid many problems for the students and myself.
Don't you need one along w/DNS in order to get AD installed.
No where in the book does it mention that you need to have a hub, null cable or network in order to set the server.
If i ping 192.168.0.1 (the nic address) i get a time out.
If i ping 127.0.0.1 i get 4 lines of good reply.
There has tobe a way to setup this server w/o a hub.
i don't think MS would have schools doing w/o a hub if it isn't possible.

By stand alone I mean it is not connected to any network.
So if I connect it to a hub, i will be able to get it to join a the domain?
Is this why, when i ping wwtc01(server) i get an ip address of 127.0.0.1?
