Voicemail Pro on UCM - Fix "User Blocked" for Administrator login from VM Pro Client

by  atcom  Posted    (Edited  )
Need to reset the Administrator password for the VM Pro client on a UC Module? Getting a "User Blocked" error? Here are the steps to recover on 8.1:

1) Use WinSCP to login to a UCM with a known Administrator password. Use the webcontrol username and password (Administrator/Administrator by default)

2) Copy the file /opt/vmpro/Accounts/userlist.dat to your computer

3) Use WinSCP to login to the bad UCM. Again, use the webcontrol username and password (Administrator/Administrator by default)

4) Delete the file /opt/vmpro/Accounts/userlist.dat

5) Copy the file userlist.dat from your computer to /opt/vmpro/Accounts/

6) Restart the Voicemail service from webcontrol (or reboot) and you should be in with the Administrator password from the UCM in step 1!

The file will now be owned by Administrator instead of root, but that doesn't seem to matter. It's permissions are rx rx r.
