If in the last 2 years, you had to go from Nortel to Avaya and are since replacing tons of Norstar/BCM systems with IP Office, the transition for the customer can be rough, especially for the administrator or receptionnist in charge of modifying greetings for new hours, holidays and so on. Here's what I do, and customers really like it.
-Create your shortcode: *983/VM Node/TN:*983
-In VM Pro, create a module called "Recordings"
-Add a Basic Action/Menu, under Token name put in Recordings
-Record an entry prompt similar to this: "please select the greeting to edit from X to X".
-Select the touch tones you will use, or create new ones from 01 to 16 (max) if you have more than 10. Press OK
-Create a Config Actions/Edit Play List for every touch tone you created.
-Edit each one with a Token name, an entry prompt if desired "Business hours" or "Out of hours".
-Under specific, create a .wav file name corresponding to the greeting that will be recorded (or select an existing one).
-Connect each touch tone to its Play List, and the start point to the Menu.
-Create your *983 short code in VM Pro and point it to your "Recordings" module.
-Save and make live.
Now, pick up a handset and dial *983; you should hear your entry prompt asking you to choose the recoring you wish to edit. Once your selection made you will hear (optional) entry for your greeting type, and then Press 1 to listen, 2 to record and 3 to save.
Now print out a list for the administrator, and voila! No need to log in to VM PRO each time a new recording is needed; and that *983 will be easy to remember for those people.
