When trying to install SDK98 or SDK99 on WinXP/Win2000/WinNT a message comes up which says:

This installation had detected that a previous installation or un-installation requires that you restart your computer

The Solution:
1.Reboot your system
2.Look for a file named Wininit.ini, in either your WinNT or Windows folders.
If you cannot see any file extensions (the .ini bit I mean) then you have to go to a windows explorer window and choose
Tools|Folder Options|and the click on View Tab
and UNTICK Hide file extensions for known file types.

3.If you find this file, rename it to Wininit.old
4.Try the Sidekick install again.
It should now work.
