Attachments GroupWise 8

How Do I open an attachment with double click by assets
Posted: 19 Nov 12

In GroupWise 7.x client when you double clicking of a file attachment GroupWise would determine the correct application to open the file. This was done through a setting in Tools -> Environment that you could tick to open an attachment. View in a new window or open attachment. This setting is not available in GroupWise 8
SOLUTION

If You: Double click on an attached file
Then: Open the file attachment in the associated application

If You: Single click on an attached file
Then: File is viewed in a window

If when you double click on an attachment and it is being open in a new window instead of being opened with the appropate program then read steps below:

RUN Windows registry editor
You need the registry key below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\GroupWise\Client\Setup
CHANGE the value for File Attach DoubleClick to be 1 to enable the file to be opened with the appropate program. NOTE: If it is 0 then they will be opened in a new window not the program.
