Installing Linux

RedHat Dual Boot with window by WannaKnow
Posted: 23 Apr 01

First install the  OS first ( I assume window )

Then install RedHat û you may choose custom installation, you will come to a option on whether to install with linearà.( might needed for some of the SCSI drive ). û Do not choose for the Linear option.

I think this should work.

If you still have problem for dual boot. Then Boot the RedHat with the diskett and amend the /etc/lilo.conf
- look for the line ôlinearö mark it off and replace it with lba32.
- it should have a line "default=Linux" ; you can change it to dos as well

- Then install the file by /sbin/lilo ûv

You should have a dual boot systems now. This took me easily a month to find out.  This is Linux û enjoy!
