AMD Athlon XP Processor History by edemiere

While in my time here at tek-tips.com I have seen many discussions regarding which CPU's have which specifications and many people don't realize how many combinations of the various CPU's were made.  So, with that in mind, here is the AMD Athlon XP Processor history.

In this FAQ I have chosen to group by the core that was produced during the CPU's production history and then secondly by supported BUS speed.  The columns are self explanatory and show what was changed as the processor evolved.

Total CPU cache is computed by adding the L1 & L2 together.  So, in short, the Palomino, Thoroughbred and Thorton core CPU's have 384K cache memory, while the Barton core CPU's have 640K.
