How do I change the default DirectoryIndex for different domains? by Wullie
Posted: 4 May 02 (Edited 2 Aug 03)

The following explains how you can change the default documents that Apache looks and use different ones for each virtualhost.

Just add the following to your htaccess file and place it in each virtualhost that does not require the server default configuration or place the code in the specific virtualhost directives. Change the file names to suit you, apache looks for these files in order from left to right.

DirectoryIndex index.shtml index.html index.cgi index.pl index.php

Hope this helps
