Resource Issues

Too much memory causes system crashes and errors by ngagne
Posted: 11 Dec 01

Because of an inherent problem with the W9x OSes, you cannot run more than 320MB of RAM.  Having more will cause system lockups, crashes, and resource errors.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and have more than 320MB of RAM, remove RAM until you have less than 320MB.  This should cure the problem!

More information on how to improve the performance of your W9x system can be found at FAQ615-786.
