Report Development

Using non standard text characters by FoxG
Posted: 28 Sep 01

You can get most characters using the wingdings font set.
(including left right up down arrows)

Go into Microsoft Word...
Change the font set to Wingdings (or any other!!)...
Insert Symbol...
Select required character...
Insert into you word document...
Highlight the specific character...
Edit... Copy...

Switch windows to your Crystal Report...
Insert Text object...
paste into the text field...
Change font to wingdings...

Hey Presto !!!

NB. It may be useful to do a one off exercise to generate a crystal report text field including a variety of useful non-standard characters.  This can then be referred to from any new reports being written using cut and paste.
