Business be aware - in December of 2006 the government made changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP). FRCP is the rulebook or guidelines for civil suits in U.S. federal courts that define a uniform set of requirements and procedures for trying civil suits in a consistent manner and reduce risks of invalid procedure issues. This update to the FRCP impacts data storage and brings new challenges and opportunities involving data storage for electronic records and document management. While the rules, regulations and laws apply to all electronic records, we focus on the most challenging aspect - Message Archiving or archiving of all Email and IM for an organization.
