Magic 8.30 application using Pervasive v8.5 database crashes.

Users have been complaining that when they use the application it suddenly freezes and they have to start a new session.  Sometimes the application crashes happen at the same time on all workstations. The network guys took a look at the infrastructure and found no problems.  I spoke to Pervasive and they suggested that I upgrade to version 8.6.  The crashes have become so frequent that it is just frustrating.

The application uses Magic 8.30 software and Pervasive 8.5 database.  The workstations and server run on Windows 2000. I do plan to upgrade from Pervasive 8.5 to 8.6.  I am hoping that will resolve the problem.  We are located on the 6th floor and the server is on 11th floor in the ITSD datacenter.

I would appreciate any advise in this regard.  Hopefully someone has encountered a similar situation and can guide me.  Thanks.
