C:Direct between MVS & UNIX

C:Direct between MVS & UNIX

(OP)
trying to send a file containing ascii and binary from mvs to unix. the file is arriving at unix in binary. I want to send the file without any conversion. have tried with xlate off in sysopts but still not working. any help appreciated.

RE: C:Direct between MVS & UNIX

In the sysopts , put datatype of binary and xlate of no.

RE: C:Direct between MVS & UNIX

.... and strip.blanks as no, just to be sure

I've also found that some systems don't take kindly to you getting the format of the sysopts statement wrong.  They just ignore what you're asking, without giving an error.

The ways I've seen it written are:
sysopts="datatype(binary) strip.blanks(no)"
sysopts=":datatype=binary:strip.blanks=no:xlate=no:"  <-- I think you want this version.

Check your Unix manual for more information.
