Hello, I am running a Compaq Proliant ML370 with 2 x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel 996 processors. When I rebooted there was a message saying "1615 - Power Supply Failure in Bay 2" I did a Google search and found some info that said it is the power supply fan. Does anyone know if this is the case? The server seems to be running fine.

Thanks, Eli

If you have a 2nd(redundant) power supply installed, it must be connected to AC power or you'll get the error. Power supply or fan failure will also give you the error

Thanks for the reply derf238. There is only 1 power supply (that I am aware of) and all of the fans are working fine.

I have a rack of DL360's which have started having ps fans die. The error is similar, and what I have had to do was replace the individual fan in the power supply. Luckily I had a spare PS to part out from.

The biggest problem is finding a replacement fan vs. replacing the entire power supply. $5 vs $340 is not a hard one to debate over. But locating the fan is the trick. Does anyone know of a central distributor of fan parts etc. I am still hunting the net using Google.

Hi uberduck,

My problem turned out to be a loosely plugged in power supply. The error is gone now.

I hope you can locate a fan for yours.

Eli
