Can anyone tell me how to clear a blinking Answer/Message Waiting light on a Dterm Series E DTP-8D-1 phone on a 2000IVS switch?  Thank you

I have shut off MW lamps by going into the numbering plan ( CM 200 ) and assigning an axcess cod for feature A146. I use "69". Then go off hook on the extention and dial "693" and hangup. Do this a few times until the lamp shuts off.

I know how to clear the Message Waiting light when there is no message, for us it's 873.  However, I should have been clearer about my problem; in this case the "Answer" and the "Message Waiting" lamps are blinking together. I think it has to do with something like "Call Back" something or other.  The lady said she came in this morning and both lights were blinking together and they won't stop.  Any Ideas what feature might be causing this?

Is there a way in MATWorX to look at an Extension to see if features such as "Call Back", "Do Not Disturb", etc.. are active on a phone when I get calls of phones not acting right?

Command 20, but this is system wide only. What you are asking is not single station programming.

I tried #1 and the ANSWER and the MESSAGE WAITING lamps are still blinking.  Therefore, it doesn't have anything to do with the "call back" feature.  I remember this happening before on a few phones and NEC was called out and it ended up being something simple that anyone of us could've canceled on the phone.  I can't remember what causes this though to look up how to cancel whatever's turned on.  Any Ideas as to what's been activated on this phone?  Thanks again Gentlemen for all your help.

If the answer light is flashing, you have ringing line pref by phone set up.  Press feat + ans.  The voicemail (if you have one) might think the light is off; try leaving a message and then check it after a few minutes.

I just tried your suggestion, thank you.  However, I still can't clear the problem on this phone.  The ANSWER and the Call Waiting light keep slowly blinking simultaneously no matter what I try.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks for all your help.

The issue you are dealing with is more than likely an FP buffer overflow. This occurs mainly when TAS is utilized in the system. The station was ringing because of the directed incoming trunk signalling. The call was then answered by another station (TAS, Call pick-up etc) but BUS traffic at that time did not allow the FP to be updated with the information of the call termination. Or the FP was too busy to receive or send the message. Thus the phone continues to appear as though it is ringing. There is no ringing because the call was answered else where. The easiest solution is a poke in the eye (reset the MP).
The FP will initalize and all stations will be reset to idle. If the set appears in upper PIMs you can just reset the associated FP.

Question, I can dial into the switch with MATWorX 3.61 from my computer, will the "System/reset" clear this problem?

What exactly does the "System/reset" in MATWorX do, and what do I have to be aware of other than calling the building and letting them know they'll be without phones for a couple minutes?

Yes it should. The System/reset is just that and all call progress will be stopped. If this is a CP00 it should be back on line within 20~30 seconds. If it's a CP03 (smaller porcessor) it will be closer to 60 seconds.

Answer light can be turned off by hitting Feature + Answer
MW needs Message Search code then 3 to clear

If the mwl is blinking green you can turn it off from the attendant console.  If red, you could also try programming a singleline port as a voicemail port and dialing the mwl off code with a single liner or a butt-set.
