I was just going through Vignette Manuals and was confused by the
repeated word "DocRoot".
Can anybody elaborate on this....

DocRoot can be considered the document root.  This is the directory where the web server will point to when it receives a request.  This directory contains your html files (cached). As for non-cache html pages, the page generator will write the html file to the directory.  As the web server receives a request for an html page, it will look into the docroot to locate the page.  If the html is a cached page, the web server will find it immediately.  As for non-cache pages, the web server plug-in will intercept the 404 error (page not found) and kicks off the CAS to generate the html page for the web server.

This is the document root directory where storyserver will write all the html pages to be delivered to the site. These may be cached on the docroot or simply generated temporarily until the web server is notified to deliver the page to the browser, at which time, storyserver will delete the page.

You can find out what the docroot is by the command [SHOW DOCROOT]
