Cannot connect to Internet with win2003 enterprise

I cannot connect to the internet.

I just got windows 2003 server enterprise ed.

The system is dual booted with winxp pro. the winxppro connects just fine.

I have PPPoE with SBC Yahoo with a dynamic IP address.

I get error "Page cannot be displayed" on any page.

Does it say at the bottom "Could Not Find Server"? If so you probably just got bit by the enhanced DNS of Win2K3.

I created a tip about this yesterday in this forum, read up on it there if you like to verify if it is your problem.

Quick answer is to edit the registry, create a DWORD named EnableDnsProbes in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Parameters. Leave the value the default of zero. Restart the DNS service.

By default, you can't surf the net from W2K3. This is by design. You need to add the site you want browse to your "trusted sites"
