I am writing a report in Crystal V9 and I was wondering if that will work with Macola 7.6 when i try to add it through the Visual Menu Builder as an executable

Any executeablke can be added to a Macola menu.  However Crystal reports v9 does not allow you to compile a report into an executeable.  You will have to use the crystal report designer component (RDC) and add the report to a VB project, and then make the VB program an executeable.

I thought you could distribute v9 reports using the distributed report methodology (which was also available in versions where compiling WAS available) or publish them on a server for everyone to access?  Am I dreaming?  Or is this only the "enterprise" AKA "big bucks" crystal solution?  Why do all these vendors take away technology we've used successfully for years?  Sigh.  When I look at a $1700 report writer for v7/8.5 versus enterprise at >$15k, I wonder how crystal thinks they can maintain their existing customer base.

The solution to this is to get a report viewer....check out www.milletsoftware.com, the best product I have seen in this area.
