Can somebody tell me what are the possible reasons why my transaction server would suddenly stop?! Because in my application, it uses a component that reside in MTS and connects to a program in mainframe. When I do some transactions it gives me this error:

1304 COM Transaction Integrator was unable to process the method because the Transaction Server is in the process of stopping.  Retry the operation later.

Hi gust1480,
You could try changing the time out period for your component(s) to "leave running when idle" instead of a specified length of time.

Hey guys,

We are getting the same message:
1304 COM Transaction Integrator was unable to process the method because the Transaction Server is in the process of stopping.  Retry the operation later.
Gust1480 - did you ever resolve the problem?
How?

Thanks!

We found the answer.
We were running COMTI within SNA under NT to communicate to the mainframe.  We migrated to Server 2K, installed MTS and COMTI.  There is a bug.  The tagen.dll file must be updated. The only way to get this file is to contact Microsoft support.  See the following reference.

MIcrosoft sent us the tagen.dll file and it worked.

We solved the problem by installing the HIS Service Pack 1.
