Does anyone know if this ancient version of Btrieve/Pervasive works with windows XP Pro?  Any issues I need to be aware of?

The only thing I'm aware of is that it writes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software and so might not be accessible by a "user".  I think you'll need to have Power User rights or better.  Other than that, Pervasive has said they don't support it and never tested it on XP.
I've used it successfully though.

You can apply the standard MS security template called COMPATWS. This relaxes the security so that even a restricted user can use v6.15 engine. You will still need to change the home directory in via the w32mkset.exe.

If you don't apply the template, power user or admin rights are required.
