I am running MS Office 2000. Each and every time I copy something the ANNOYING clipboard toolbar opens up. It seems that I am forever closing it.

You can right-click on it and de-select clipboard which makes it dissapear, but it opens again on the very next copy!

It is like a fly that keeps buzzing around your head that you just can't seem to get to go away!

One online solution said to search the registry for "AcbControl" and change the setting to "1", but low and behold - that key does not seem to exist. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I hate the Office clipboard toolbar also.

For me, it usually seems to pop up when I'm copying stuff out of Outlook. If I dock it, it stays out of the way for a while, then I'll open and close a few messages, start copying, and it's undocked and back!

So far, I've resigned myself to just keep swatting away at it. :-(

With the clipboard up, there is an option (under options) for it to show automatically - deselect this
It will then not show up everytime you copy.
However, it will show up automatically if you do 2 copies without clearing the clipboard (ie by pressing ESC)
I don't think that this can be turned off

I found the answer and thought I would share it. johnwteck, here it is:

Just about everybody I know hates that feature. Why they did it without an easy disable option is beyond me. But the above URL shows how to disable it with a simple reg edit.

FREADOM!!!!

Good Luck,
