WSAD: Resource REferencing in a thread

WSAD: Resource REferencing in a thread

(OP)
I am moving to using Resource Referencing in WSAD. I have all the aliases set up correctly and am accessing the database using "java:comp/env". I can read and write to the database. However, at one point I spawn a new thread; within the thread I need to update the database. In the thread I get a NameNotFoundException: "java:comp/env" is apparantly not defined in the thread.

Has anyone ever seen this problem before? Did I miss something in setting up to use resource referencing? Do I have to do something so that this namespace can be seen in the thread? Is this an error in WebSphere?
