I am working on a computer that has Windows 98. My problem is that the Mitsumi FX Series(Version 1.53) will not read anything but Audio CD's. I put Office 97 into the CD and the the Audio Player comes up with Track 1. Any ideas??

Try reinstalling the driver or use a more generic driver. Also, whichever audio software you are using, try diabling the autoplay feature. Otherwise, try a different drive.

If you are using a 32x cdrom get rid of it. We have about 80 or them in our building.
They have been nothing but trouble. We have been replacing them with sony and they work much better. No more problem with them reading the cds as audio cds
