Jun  4 23:05:34 iwapps3 postfix/smtp[3313]: fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp
Jun  4 23:05:35 iwapps3 postfix/nqmgr[3169]: warning: premature end-of-input on private/smtp socket while reading input attribute name
Jun  4 23:05:35 iwapps3 postfix/nqmgr[3169]: warning: private/smtp socket: malformed response
Jun  4 23:05:35 iwapps3 postfix/nqmgr[3169]: warning: transport smtp failure -- see a previous warning/fatal/panic logfile record for the problem description
Jun  4 17:05:35 iwapps3 postfix/master[2552]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/smtp pid 3312 exit status 1
Jun  4 17:05:35 iwapps3 postfix/master[2552]: warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/smtp: bad command startup -- throttling

I can provide the main.cf file but it's fairly lengthy.

Have a look in your /etc/services file, there should be an entry for port 25:

 smtp            25/tcp          mail

IBM Certified Flabbergasted - AIX 5 pSeries System Administration
MS Certified Windblows Rebooter

I actually did check that...Gues I should of Listed the troubleshooting I did.  Because It was a new system (and I as pressed for time), I simply reformatted the system and reloaded from scratch.  That seems to have resolved this particular problem.

I still have several others but I probably should list those on a seperate thread.

Thanks anyway...
