I am in the market for a new computer to be used mostly for Photoshop. I know I need a lot of RAM and a big hard drive, and I plan to run two monitors, but the rest of the stuff I am a little foggy on. Is AMD or Intel a better CPU for Photoshop? What is a good motherboard for this system? What Video card would be best? How much do I need to spend? ETC.
Thanks for any suggestions. |

Lots of RAM is good. A fast hard drive (not 5400 rpm) is good when you do a lot of R/W to the scratch disk. |

Look at the Macs too, dont dismiss them and remember that the processor speed is equivalent to a higher PC processor but I am not sure of the formula so you may need to check them out. Go for the highest RAM you can afford. apple iMac 17"Flat panel, 80GB 800mhz Superdrive, RunningOSX 10.2.4 Canon Lide scanner Canon S520 IJ Printer |
