JDeveloper connection to DB fails for CMP

I obtain the following error when attempting run an EJB which uses container-managed persistence:

SQL error: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

However, the connection wizard reports success when testing the  connection, and in fact I can view the details of the connection(tables, etc.) in the System Navigator panel.

However, the embedded OC4J server is not connecting to the database.
How to solve this problem?

Is your OC4J on the same machine as your database? If not, the first step would be to test the connection from the middle tier. Guess that's obvious tho.

I solved this problem by specifying Host Name as localhost in Tools/Embeded OC4J Server Settings, Global/Startup, Host Name or IP Adress setting
