For what do you use MimerSQL?

For what do you use MimerSQL?

(OP)
Hi all,

I've recently started looking at MimerSQL as a database engine - but I find it somewhat hard to get things started. I have trouble creating objects ('object blabla does already exist' - while it does not) and I kinda dislike the cascading effect when dropping stuff...

Do you guys use Mimer a lot, and if so, for what kinda of applications? Are there any advanced tools out there?

Thanks,

Martijn Tonies

RE: For what do you use MimerSQL?

Yes, we use it a lot. We use it concervative, that is not too much triggers, stored procedures and foreign keys.

The good things about Mimer is that it uses standard SQL, it is easy to manage in production environment, its fast and relatively low cost.

Havent had the type of problems you seam to have.

What tools do you use with Mimer? Do you use the standard (command line) interface, or did you find any other tools?

I use the QBE (query by example) a lot. There I can edit script files and run one or several statements.

QBE uses ODBC so you can use it on another PC and it is a port of the installation.
