Caller ID not showing Correctly at end user - Caller ID Database used to Identify incoming callers?

Caller ID not showing Correctly at end user - Caller ID Database used to Identify incoming callers?

Caller ID not showing Correctly at end user - Caller ID Database used to Identify incoming callers?

(OP)
We have an Avaya IPOffice R9 System that is connected to a SIP Provider for outbound calls. When some users call some customers the number is Identified as JPMorgan and not the Username that we have setup in the Avaya SIP tab for the user.

If that same user calls my Home Phone (Comcast VoIP) I see the name that we have assigned the user on the Avaya SIP tab. So I know its going though our SIP Provider just fine.

Is there some Caller ID Database that could be used for number lookup that would override the Caller ID Name that is sent along with the call?

Thanks,

RE: Caller ID not showing Correctly at end user - Caller ID Database used to Identify incoming callers?

the URI has to be setup to use the User information by setting the name to "Use Credentials User Name"

The SIP URI Contact and Display Name are all set to *, which should use the Data on the User's SIP Tab.

I'm getting the Proper Caller ID when I call a majority of people. Its when I am calling a few large corporations that its showing up as JPMorgan.

We have had these numbers for maybe 15-20 years. Just seems like the Large companies we are calling are using some other system to Identify callers?

RE: Caller ID not showing Correctly at end user - Caller ID Database used to Identify incoming callers?

the * will work for incoming but you need to use the other setting to use the name as far as I have experienced

the * is like the Auto setting on the newer releases

Auto: Use the number that IP Office is using to make the call as the From field. The number will be aligned with IP Office internal numbering schema.

We only have One SIP Trunk Connection, so from my understanding the "Use Credentials User Name" would be the Username that the Avaya is using to make the connection to the SIP Provider and not the individual user.

You are correct and I need more sleep.

Use Internal Data

that was what I wanted to write

So its looks like the end user might be using the LIDB/CNAM Database to get the Caller ID info.

If I enter my number in here: https://www.opencnam.com It does come up with JP Morgan.

Though the only places I can find to update the database is $5/number. I didnt test all 100 number in our DID block, but a wide range and all of them are JP Morgan.
Does not seem right that I need to Pay $500 to get the entries updated. Heck I'd be happy to just have them removed!
