Programming ANS DN on a group of extensions

Programming ANS DN on a group of extensions

(OP)
Have a client that has relocated his dispatch people to a office trailer due to growth in the company.
I am trying to have multiple ANS DN's on the extensions in the trailer office so that each person can answer the other members of the dispatch team.
I have assigned the extensions in programming to respective extensions (there are 6 people in the dispatch group) as well as assigning them to a hunt group so the main office can transfer inbound calls to the office.
When I call in to test all I can do is hear a 'On Hold" beep, I can't pick up the call.
A) Do need to to program "Call Pickup" on a button and do I need to include "Pickup Group: (x)" on each of the extensions in the ANS DN set group (Dispatch Office)?
B) What am I doing wrong here
C) As well the HG01 appears on one of the buttons and it doesn't need to be there; how can I remover that HG01 from the button? I have to put the HG01 on two other sets at the front counter so inbound calls get transferred to the hunt group, how do I add the hunt group feature to phone sets that are not part of the 'hunt group'?

Hunt Groups and Answer DN's may not play well and just confuses everything.

Do people need to answer a particular phone or just the incoming calls to the centre?

Pickup group answers any ringing phone phone in that group, I do not know if that includes HG calls though....somebody might know.

However why try to pickup another phone when the HG is already ringing at all the sets?

Go into Hunt Groups and ADD members, when adding press SHOW or NEXT to have it A&P or Appear Only

1) Change the ANS DN option in system programming to ENHANCED and try that.

2) The only option for HG is APPEAR ONLY and APPEAR AND RING. RING ONLY is not an available option.

Yo Marv I treat all my clients like DID's and make HG's Ring Only, you do have all 3 as options.

Enhanced might be a good suggestion or Extended

Just a quick update guys, thanks for the input and suggestions
I have taken all the extension that had ANS DN on them off and replaced them with the respective extension appearances, plus added a "Group PickUp" (F75) "Pickup Group: 1" on each of the extensions. There are 8 lines that Appear & Ring on the sets and a "HG01" for the extensions (Dispatch Office - 6 Extension as mentioned before)
Currently when I do a test call in from my cellphone it does not work like I was hoping (Press Group Pick Up, press the extension that is ringing, and then the call will be picked up)
Any thoughts on this new configuration?

As a follow up to the above configuration I call in from a cell and ask to be transfer to the extension beside me; phone rings but does not indiscate ringing on my sets button designated for the extension, I press the "Group Pick Up" button and it says "No free Button" and "Pickup denied"
What have I missed??????

In Capabilities add all the DN's to a Group such as Pickup Group:1
Then program a key for Feature 75 on all the sets.

Not sure what that means...do you mean Intercom key?

You may need to add an intercom button. Group Pickup does not require any additional button presses. Just F75.

As for HG to work properly lines need to be assigned to the HG and the lines removed from the HG sets.

Also you can not group pickup a HG call.

Thanks Paul, forgot that HG also has a ring only option.

Have installed the F75 and tested the procedure with the staff, works well so far
